FAQ

Commonly Asked Questions about Young World Child Care Center

Does our child need to be potty trained?

No, Every child is ready at different times. We encourage independence, so we would like children to be in either regular underpants or pull-ups. We do not have changing tables to change diapers.

During nap times, what if they don’t sleep? Can they play with something quietly on their bed?

Each age group has a different length of age-appropriate time for rest time. Once all “sleepers” are sleeping, the awake children will be given quiet rest time toys that are only used during this time. The children are asked to use them quietly and sit on their beds.

Are groups combined on the playground?

Every group has an allotted time of 30 minutes in the morning and the afternoon on the playground.

Do you go outside in the snow?

We go outside whenever possible. We pay attention to the weather and ensure it is not too cold or hot outside. We will ask for winter gear to be sent in during the winter months and sunblock, bug spray, and sunhats during the warmer months. We ask that you put sunblock on your child before they come to school, and we will refresh their sunblock before our afternoon playground time.

Do you follow the Easthampton Public School closure and schedule?

No, All of our closures are listed in our Family Handbook. If we close for inclement weather, it will be posted on our website, on WGGB FOX40, and on WWLP 22.

Are you a Peanut Free Facility?

No, we are not. If there are allergies in the class, all staff are made aware. The child will have an assigned seat where no allergens will be allowed at the table with said child. The table will be labeled with what allergens are not allowed to help the other children remember. Lastly, the family with a child with allergies will be asked to provide lunch and a morning and afternoon snack.
